Why is it that it always seems like I just did all the laundry, but yet I am always still doing laundry? Of all of the household chores, including the bathrooms, laundry is my least favorite! For years I have pondered this, trying to figure out what it is about laundry that I dislike so much. Today as I have been working through my to do list (which includes laundry), I have discovered the answer. It is because laundry fights against the fiber of my very being. As you ALL know, I am a "put it on the list and get it done as soon as possible so you can mark it off the list" kind of a gal. Laundry doesn't work that way - laundry is a waiting game. Wait for the wash cycle, throw the load in the dryer. Put in the next load which is done washing before the first load finishes drying. Fold the first load, put the second one into dry, and the whole thing starts all over again ~ you know the routine. So then I have folded clothes sitting on my table for an unknown amount of time, waiting for all the loads to finally go through the cycle. The only relief comes when the clean, freshly folded clothes are placed in the basket and handed over to their owners to be put away. At least I think they put it away. Oh well, I think I hear the dryer buzzing......

My Still Handsome Husband
A friend of ours from church usually cuts all of our hair. This past Saturday, Rick decided he couldn't wait any longer for me to get my act together and make arrangements for him to get a haircut. So he went to the Barber Shop down the street and got a little more than he bargained for. Don't get me wrong, it's not a bad haircut - it's just shorter than any of us expected (including Rick), but by now we are used to it. And besides, it's only hair and will grow back (we hope). As usual, it is Alexis who helps us see the humor in all things......
And I can't help but add that the 3+ year debate that we have been having where Rick says, "I'm just going to shave my head bald and get it over with," and I say "I'm not sure you really want to do that, dear" is now over. I win.

Friday night party - Alexis style
Friday nights are very casual around our house. We usually let the girls have pizza, popcorn, and soda while watching movies. Tonight Alexis decided that ultimate comfort was the only way to go - so she made her own little nest out of my large laundry basket piled with blankets and pillows. She hasn't moved for hours.....
(Notice the tornado of toys that blew in to join the party - true Alexis style)

The first five people to respond to this post will get something made by me, Steph. My choice. For you.
This offer does have some restrictions and limitations:
1-I make no guarantees that you will like what I make (but I'll try!)
2- What I create will be just for you.
3-It'll be done by April 18th.
4-You have no clue what it's going to be. It may be a story. It may be poetry or an article on properly cleaning your face before a masque. I may scrapbook something. I may bake you something and mail it to you. Who knows? Not you, that's for sure!
The catch? Oh, the catch is that you must repost this on your blog and offer the same to the first 5 people who do the same on your blog. The first 5 people to do so and leave a comment telling me they did it will then win a fabulous homemade gift made by me! Oh, and be sure to post a picture of what you win when you get it! Rock Garden
This morning when I woke up Alexis was all ready for school and in the process of creating this rock garden (on the dining room table) for Rick. It's so sweet I just had to share it with you. Rick went in early to work so I know he hasn't seen it yet - he will love it!

My Amazing Husband
Today was just an ordinary day. Rick went to work. The girls went to school. I worked in the morning and spent the rest of the day cleaning house. Rick came home from work while I was teaching a piano lesson. As I started cooking dinner, Rick gave me roses - just because...
Isn't he amazing?
